Locke Park Entrants

14 Mar 2017 07:15:00

Hi

Please use this link to access details for Sunday's event. Please read carefully - it includes information such as where to park, your bib number, where and when to collect it from.

The 10 Mile option will only apply to those that stop at 10 miles and so that no further reads are made on the chip system will have their chips cut in two.

Please visit our partner results site where the race result including your individual mile splits will be available after the race.

Please be aware that a junior parkrun will take place in the park before the race  - 9am start. If you have children with you on Sunday, provided they are registered with parkrun they will be able take part.

Finally, if you are unable to run on Sunday, there are a few people still on the waiting list hoping for an entry - but transfers can only made now by emailing me, and not through the entry site.

Locke Park 20 - email update

21 Feb 2017 17:30:00

Thank you for entering this year’s Locke Park 20 Miler – with 10 Mile option.

Once again the race has been sold out and with just under 4 weeks to go, we have a waiting list for places.

In the last 10 days we have discovered an alternative 1 mile lap that avoids using the bridges on and off the island, and has 3 fewer right angle bends. For those entering for the first time this won’t mean a great deal, but to those that are returning having run in one or more of the previous years, you will hopefully find this agreeable – PLEASE LEAVE FEEDBACK ABOUT THIS via Give us your feedback This lap has been officially measured and certified.

You should have received an automatically generated confirmation email within a few minutes of entering, these can go to your junk mail folder, so it’s worth finding it to check the details are correct – date of birth is the most common mistake.

You can make any corrections yourself via the entry site - click for example.

What to do if I am unable to run?

If you know someone that would like to use your number then do the following:

Check to see if they are on the waiting list, if he/she is on the waiting list and if so let me know and I will do the transfer.

If they are not on the waiting list then you can do it yourself via the entry site – click for example. If you are a club member and the new runner is not then you will need to let me know by email, and I will sort that out for you.

For the above you can sort out the financial arrangements between you.

If you don’t know anyone who wants to use your number then let me know and I will transfer it to the next person on the waiting list. I will refund your fee (less 50p to cover Paypal’s charge).

The transfer system via the entry website will be available until about a week before the race, after that I will transfer runner’s details into the results system and you will then need to email me to make changes. You will be aware of this happening as I will be sending out race details at this time.

Cheers

Mermaid 10k entrants

21 Jan 2017 16:15:00

Thank you for entering the Mermaid 10k.

I have been amazed at how quickly the race has filled up - by 3rd Jan 2017 it took until 10th Feb last year!

I have even closed the waiting list now with nearly 50 people on it.

For those on Mermaid waiting list

18 Jan 2017 17:15:00

Hi

I am emailing you because you are on the waiting list for the Mermaid 10k.

I have closed the waiting list, at least for the time being. I can't be exact but last year I think I transferred about 40 people from the waiting list into the race, so for most of you there is still hope.

The waiting list system has a bug in it, hence some, if not all of you have got an email saying that there is already a place available. There are currently no places available.

Here is a link for the waiting list in "pecking" order. If at any stage you make alternative arrangements or simply change your mind, then please let me know as it will make servicing the list easier.

As places become available I will email the next person on the list offering them a the place. They will have 2 days to respond and then I will offer it to the next person. As we get closer to race day I may offer one place to five people on a first come first served basis. I was making transfers right up to two days before the race in 2016! So again if you change your mind let me know!

Please keep a lookout for my emails and respond promptly.
